The Jessie Lake property is situated within the Temagami Greenstone Belt which is part of the Abitibi Greenstone Belt within the Canadian Shield in northeastern Ontario. The property is underlain by Archean metavolcanics rocks which have been intruded by Proterozoic intrusive rocks. There are a number of copper, nickel and gold occurrences in rocks similar to those present at the Diadem copper-nickel deposit (Teck Exploration Ltd) located close to the western boundary of the property.
Secova plans to conduct a mag survey as well as chip channel sampling on several altered outcrop with quartz vein-veinlets zones to check for gold mineralization. Several of these altered zones were identified by the company’s technical team on a recent visit to the site in July 2015. The mag survey will cover areas that were not included in 2012 survey which was the last time exploration was conducted on the property. Mag readings will also be made on infill lines within some anomalous areas. To date, there has been no drilling to test geophysical or geochemical targets on the property. Secova intends to use the result of the mag survey in conjunction with past geophysical results to confirm drill targets for possible drilling in 2016. The company is targeting Archean shear-hosted gold and copper-nickel sulfide mineralization on the Jessie Lake property.
